Who we are
Studio Galera ("we") is the data controller for the personal data processed through this app. Contact us about anything in this notice at info@studiogalera.com.
What we collect and why
- Identity and contact details (name, email, phone, date of birth, photo) — to manage your memberships and account. Basis: our contract with you.
- Bookings, attendance and membership history — to deliver classes, manage capacity and track your membership. Basis: our contract with you.
- Payments — amounts, dates and payment status. Card and bank details are handled by our payment provider; we never store card numbers. Basis: contract, and legal (tax) obligations for keeping financial records.
- Emergency contact — so we can reach someone if something happens during training. Basis: legitimate interest in member safety.
- Medical information you choose to share — only so instructors can train you safely. This is optional and processed with your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time in your profile settings.
- Family accounts — guardians manage dependents' profiles and bookings; the same rules apply to a dependent's data.
- Messages and notifications — communication between you and us. Notifications on your phone go through the push service of your phone or browser maker, which sees that a notification was delivered but not what it says. We note which phone and browser you use the app on, whether you installed it, when you last opened it and whether notifications are on, so we can tell whether our messages reach you.
Who processes your data for us
Service providers for hosting and our database, payments and direct debits, email, and error monitoring. Each acts under a data-processing agreement. We do not sell your data.
We store your data in the EU, in Ireland. Some of our providers may process it outside the EU/EEA. When they do, it is protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for a copy of those safeguards.
How long we keep it
Profile and attendance data: while you are a member and up to one year after. Medical information and emergency contacts: deleted when you stop being a member. Financial records: kept for six years as required by Irish tax law, even after erasure of your profile. Trial-enquiry details of people who don't join: deleted within 90 days.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, have it erased (except records we must keep by law), restrict or object to processing, and take your data elsewhere. Email info@studiogalera.com — we respond within one month. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
